According to local tradition, during the years of Ottoman rule, a young girl took refuge in this area in order to escape from Ali Pasha. Her name, origin and exact story are not known. For this reason, in local tradition she became known as Agia Kori, meaning “Holy Girl”.
Over time, Agia Kori became recognized as a holy figure. The area is a magical and mysterious landscape at an altitude of around 300 meters. A path with 173 steps leads down into one of the most impressive ravines of Mount Olympus.
Surrounded by dense forest, impressive waterfalls and dreamlike natural pools, the stream of Agia Kori creates a landscape where ancient myths meet Christian tradition.
The scenery is truly enchanting, with water flowing through rich vegetation, forming natural pools and unforgettable images that captivate every visitor.
Agia Triada is located at an altitude of around 500 meters. Built on a rock, on a steep slope, the small chapel of Agia Triada is what remains of the Byzantine monastery of the same name, dating back to the 14th century.
In the shadow of Mount Olympus and on the edge of the Pierian Mountains, in Rachi, Pieria, lies Kourtis Estate, just 14 km from Katerini.
Its story began in 1997, with the planting of the first vineyard. Today, across an area of 60 stremmas, Greek and international grape varieties are cultivated, including Assyrtiko, Vidiano, Agiorgitiko, Xinomavro, Chardonnay, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The unique microclimate of the area, the family care and the organic cultivation give the wines their distinctive quality. Annual production reaches approximately 18,000 bottles.
At the winery, visitors can discover the wine production process and taste fresh or aged wines in an authentic environment of hospitality and flavor.
